A good place to begin

Choose your next step

Train with purpose

Build a session around your age band, sport, surface and available equipment.

Learn one movement

Short cues first. Deeper technique notes when you want them. No textbook required.

Check before you push

If you have pain or concerning symptoms, safety comes before training.

Chikara's note

Discipline is not punishment.

“We are not here to win one afternoon and lose the next six weeks. Learn the movement. Respect the surface. Recover properly. Then build.”

The app is a training companion, not a clinician. A concerning symptom should never be negotiated away by a workout plan.

Recovery is training

Sleep & recovery

Recovery is not a reward for hard work; it is part of the work.

  • Keep a regular sleep and wake time where possible.
  • Reduce load after unusually poor sleep, illness, or persistent fatigue.
  • Allow recovery between demanding sessions; avoid repeating hard work on a painful area.
  • Return gradually after time off instead of trying to “make up” missed sessions.

Heat & hydration

SADC conditions vary sharply by season, region and water access.

  • Prefer cooler parts of the day during hot weather.
  • Take regular water breaks and reduce intensity in heat or humidity.
  • Stop and cool down if dizzy, confused, faint, unusually weak, or nauseated.
  • Do not rely on a fixed fluid amount for every athlete or condition.

Affordable local fuel

Build meals around what is available and affordable; no supplement is required to begin.

Sadza / maize meal
Beans & groundnuts
Eggs
Kapenta / fish
Sweet potato
Muriwo / leafy greens

Aim for a mix of staple carbohydrates, protein-rich foods, vegetables or fruit, and water. Individual needs differ, especially during growth, illness, pregnancy or recovery from injury.

Return-to-training principle

The app cannot clear an injury for sport.

  1. Follow the advice of the treating clinician.
  2. Restore comfortable everyday movement first.
  3. Progress from easy drills to sport-specific work under guidance.
  4. Stop and reassess if symptoms return or worsen.
Ice, heat, medication and “playing through it” are not universal fixes. Ask a qualified professional when unsure.
